Mary's is quite possibly one of Sydney's most famous burger bars. It is common to see people queuing for up to an hour to get in the door. There is no sign so make sure you follow the crowds along Mary Street- most of them will be heading there. Don't go there if you are on a diet- it is all about the burgers, booze, and music, (which can lead to more booze). The building is over 100 years old and the original floorboards have been lovingly retained. The tables are made from recycled railway sleepers, which gives it that little touch of soul. If burgers are not your thing (who are you??) there is also mouth-watering fried chicken and delicious sides of mash and gravy and they are as cheap as chips. As you are in Newtown you will be doing your fair share of walking around, checking out what's happening in this very cool and hip neighbourhood, so try not to beat yourself up about what you eat. Sit back, enjoy and let the good times roll.
